Being new to this wonderful community, I trekked out to Atx for the 3rd week in a row to bask in it's nightlife. This time I brought my camera and made a few friends. I wasn't able to make it to the Crystal Method gig, but I did attend two other events. Let me know what you think!

Love, James
P.S. A big thanks to Eli and Raven for snapping those pics of me :]

I dont think of these as artsy, but rather fun and very well done. Excellent job. makes me wish I hadnt given up photography on the professional level.

nice. what kinda lens/flash?

I have a XTi, using a 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens, and a 430EX flash.

how long have you been working with that camera?

It's actually the most basic setup ever. standard lens, no flash :] I'm a friend of natural lighting and timelapse - the only issue is an accurate manual focus and disciplining the photo's subject into staying still, haha. this friday what time will you be coming in? we can chat about it more in person.

If I bring my camera bag out Friday you are welcome to try out the 50mm/1.4. It's probably a bit long but will certainly focus better and give you some more shutter speed options.

Tania & Dasha have that camera. Tis a pretty nice one all around.

f/1.4 eh? Thats a $250 lens right there :p I opted for the cheaper f/1.8 for only $70, tho it feels just as cheap it takes some really nice shots.

For lenses, I just got my 17-55mm f/2.8 this year (<3, but ugh expensive, but so well worth it), also have a 28-135mm IS f/3.5-5.6 (nice zoom lens, was using regularly before I got the 17), and a 50mm f/1.8.
