VIVA LA RAZA!! :bandit:
you're not a Mexican.
i met his son
and?
I'm American!
My birth cert says I'm white.
The USA classifies me as a minority.
People of my same heritage are considered "aliens" because of an imaginary political border
They just released more studies that "hispanics" are the largest group of childeren in the USA
and now the richest man in the world is not white
don't worry.
when the "hispanics" are the majority, I'll treat you with the same dignity and respect that people of my heritage have received for centuries.
That dude would look down on you just the same as the US ruling class would. Race has nothing to do with it. It's all about socio-economic class...or caste if you will. You and I are no different to him than the Mexican maids he has cleaning his toilets.
Rich hispanics, blacks, asians, indians, whites, etc all shit on the bulk of us. Until we all realize this (and do something about it) we'll all continue to be subjugated.
actually if I were in mexico, I would not be part of a middle class because there really isn't one.
So where would I fit?
I'm not impoverished.
To ignore there are racial issues both here and in Mexico is like saying that there is no such thing as skin pigment.
Mexico's middle class is small, but it's growing. Where would you fit now? You'd be in the servant class (which is where most of the middle class resides) since you're not a doctor, lawyer or other traditionally high paid, respected profession.
Until we move past racial issues the ruling classes of ALL countries will continue to hold us (us being the common man/woman, not born into wealth and privilege) all down.
and BTW...Carlos Slim isn't ethnically Mexican, he's Lebanese.
engineers are respected professionals in Mexico, FYI.
So what am I considered, ethnically?
LOL
well maybe not your kind.
I know brown engineers are.
:popcorn1:
lol @ sanitation engineer hahahahaha
sure thing, data entry clerk
The NPR article was the best read in this thread.
the most powerful people in the world are from outer space! :alien:
Yes you are and so is everyone else who lives in the Western Hemisphere.
Yes, you are classified as Caucasoid, which was part of the three "great races." The other two are Mongoloid and Negroid.
I would say this is true, Hispanics aren't the majority. But you live and work in San Antonio, which is racially different than the rest of the country. So geographically, you're not really a minority.
I wouldn't call it "imaginary." You have a bank account and in that account there is a number. You and everyone else perceives that number to have value, so therefore it exists. The same idea of perception can be applied to the border.
I would also say, the "imaginary political border" is run by a pretty real political entity, the United States.
This is probably do to Hispanic value systems. They tend, as a race to have more children then "whites" and "blacks."
Actually he is white. He falls into the Caucasoid class of people, same as you.
First, I would say that isn't very Christian of you. Second, I would say that your experience as an American, from parents who are educated, was far from being "deprived." Didn't you go to East Central?
