Texas state ID vs. Warrants

So.....i have been over this issue with many ppl in regards to getting a New ID *not drivers licence* I have been told by about 4 separate ppl that you can go get a valid Texas State ID card with active warrants without them taking you in , because its the law to have a valid ID at least. Its only if you try and get your drivers licence that they will try to bust you....


what do y'all think?

Should i try and go get my ID? Know of any good bailbonds men in san antonio just in case

you really think if you have a warrant out for your arrest and you go into a state law enforcement branch office that has access to said warrant they're gonna be like "oh no, we won't arrest you this time since you're only here to get an ID card, not a driver's license"

the only reason cops haven't shown up @ your front door to arrest you is they've got better things to do.

i went to the dmv in universal city and got my license last fall, and i have warrants all over the place. actually, the whole reason i went was to get arrested, so i could get rid of all these tickets, and they still didn't arrest me. now granted, it wasn't for anything criminal....just traffic shit.

thats what mine is for....just minor traffic stuff. and a minor in possession of alcohol which was almost 10 years ago. I might just go to get arrested screw it...i'll take some days off work and do that shit. lol..

I had an ex roommate think the same thing as you. Had warrents, lost his drivers liscense, and needed and ID. He went into the place to get his Texas ID, got his picture taken, walked out, ID came in the mail. Trust me they aren't going to arrest you.

As for anecdotal evidence of people not getting arrested; you can be a serial killer and dance a jig in front of the cops w/ human body parts in your pockets....as long as they don't know about it. Are you willing to take the chance? If so, go for it.

I don't give a shit if she gets arrested, but I'm not gonna stake her NOT getting arrested based on the anecdotal evidence of a few people.

and seriously, unless your warrants are criminal all you have to do is go to your local court house and make arrangements to pay the warrants. it's a money thing and it costs them more money to arrest and detain you than to wait for you to make a monthly payment.
