Thread: Atrium Obscurum's "Prana Apana", 12.31.2009 - Austin,TX

  1. #1 Atrium Obscurum's "Prana Apana", 12.31.2009 - Austin,TX

As 2009 comes to a close we are presented with an opportunity to look back on what this year has provided for us. It has been a year that has run the gamut of emotions & what life has to offer. In our own ways we have climbed the highest of mountains and trudged through the murky depths of our being. Now we stand on the precipice of a new year. One door is closing and another one is set to open up in front of us.

Throughout history cultures have looked upon New Year’s Eve in terms of a cycle/circle. So much of our lives from the smallest of scales to the largest can be seen as cycles. One of the most important of these cycles is the breath.

In the Hindu language, Sanskrit, Prana is the life-breath we take in with each inhalation. It is that which balances the elements of our bodies; the energizing force of life. Apana is seen as the downward force that eliminates energy from the body. It is a purge of those things that the physical body no longer needs. If these two forces come together and enter the spinal column a beautiful fusion takes place. That fusion is kundalini, and it is that which will enliven us all. Join us as we become the joining of Prana Apana and head full on into 2010.

If you joined us last year we had built a wooden step pyramid altar. This was created with the intention of being the place for those things we wished to leave behind in the past year. We are once again building an altar that will be set ablaze come morning time. You are more than welcome to add something to the altar. We will provide markers for those who wish to write on the altar. Bring anything that can be burned without posing a risk to those who wish to be there when the altar goes up in flames. Pictures, clothing, paper, etc.....you get the drift.

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you on the trance floor!

Write up about Tony, Catatonic Despair, from Arabesque Distribution:

Long have been the hours of experimentation but even longer have been the days for those that have started to wonder if the Catatonic Despair was still active. Now, after an extended hiatus taken solely for the further development of a unique interpretation of what psychedelic music for the night time is or can be, the threshold has been crossed. From within the confines of N-Sane Studios, the first of what will be a long series of unique sonic creations emerges as the The Human Illusion EP. Presenting his first tracks to the public since DMT2, Catatonic Despair dares to take you on a new journey, one that is intended to relentless yet deceptively pull the mind inward where it is forced to look upon its own ugliness and ponder how its own twisted visages came to be. It, at its core, dares the listener to ask the initial, essential question for elevating the consciousness outside and above the established systems: Why do I think the way I think? Come, be welcomed in the presence of your own inner truth for the only strangers within are those whose voices are ignored.

Here's some audio samples of the "Human Illusion" EP off of Nabi Records
    1. Unthinking Process

    2. Selective Realities

    3. Thief of Pleasures

    4. Human Illusions

Early in 2010 Catatonic Despair will be releasing his first full length album on Tantrumm Records

Psychedelic Gatherings FTW!! Burning the altar at sunrise is going to be nice. Really looking forward into letting some stuff go for 2010. Remember if you want to bring something for that altar to burn make sure it's isn't toxic. We will have markers there so you can write on it as well....

We'd love to have ya LMB9000. Intense might be the right word, and even then might not be enough to completely describe what is going to take place this whole day of 12.31.2009

As some of you may know we are starring down a full blue moon for this gathering. We are also looking at a partial lunar eclipse that starts @ 2:13PM EST. This interesting mix of celestial variables carries with it an immense amount of energy that will affect everyone. Please be aware of "yourself" as you traverse the days after the New Moon on December 16th. Stay grounded and true to yourself on the last day of 2009 as these forces at play can lead you to the next journey in front of you, or can spiral you even further down into your personal dungeon. Join us on the dance floor on this fateful evening and release yourself from the tension and go with the flow.

Talked with Singularity^3 last night and he said that he will be playing nothing but the best of the best when it comes to old school Goa. Stay with us through sun up and you will be treated to a major blast from the past. I know he mentioned we'd be hearing stuff from Prana, Pleidians, Etnica, Astral Projection, etc. Should be a rip-roaring good time

We will be providing community water at this gathering. Please bring a cup form home to use so as to keep the trash/recycling to a minimum.

As a crew we are focused and we are building positive energy that will be placed into this gathering. Some special things will be in store for everyone

Wonderful Idea! Things are starting to shape up and I' feeling the energy starting to get heavy in a really good way of course.
